A proud moment for all when the cheque was handed over to Rainbows Hospice

Reality is just that; and it can be utterly heartbreaking. I speak on behalf of everyone who took part when I say that what Rainbows does for children and young adults with terminal illnesses is nothing short of priceless.

The team with the cheque

We were honored to be invited to Rainbows on Friday 24th September to see how the money we raised would be used. With the official opening of the second wing on Saturday 25th September we had a sneak preview of the new facilities – including sensory rooms, music rooms, communal lounge with cooking facilities, the bedrooms, swimming pool, games room – this list was endless.

We left, proud to know that the help of all our sponsors, we have dedicated enough money to help bring a smile to a child’s face; to help them experience life as it should be – from basic necessities such as independence, to socialising with friends & being part of a family.

Max signs the cheque!

We raised In excess of £4,000 – which exceeded our target by over 100%. Proceeds went to Rainbows Charity as well as directly to Amber Sisson who is the true inspiration behind the expedition.

Having failed to reach the summit of Snowdon on the initial expedition, we returned earlier this month to complete the trek – along with Max Hurdis who showed true determination to complete the walk for Amber. Max alone raised in excess of £800.00 which is a phenomenal achievement.

We all would like to thank everyone who donated to the cause – your support is greatly appreciated. With Rainbows requiring 3.8 million / annum to stay open every penny is so valuable.

The Three Peaks Team: Mark Rosenberg, Kate Webb, James Rhodes, Anthony Dixon, Roxanne Jeffries, Louise Labbate, Lewis Wong, Bev Bircumshaw, Dave Watson, Mark Hurdis, Max Hurdis.
